Manufacturer LACOSTE

Lacoste is a French clothing company founded in 1933 under the name of La Chemise Lacoste (The Lacoste shirt in English) by René Lacoste, with the collaboration of André Gillier, the owner and president of the largest French knitted clothing firm at the time. Together, the two entrepreneurs revolutionized men's fashion, replacing the classical woven fabric, long sleeved and starched shirts on the courts by the now well-known Lacoste polo shirt. René Lacoste's nickname was "the Crocodile" due to his courage and persistency on the tennis court. Later, this nickname would inspire the company's green crocodile logo. Since November 2012, Lacoste belongs to the Swiss family-held group Maus Frères. Currently, the brand portfolio includes large collections of clothing for men, women and children, footwear, fragrances, leather goods, eyewear, watches, belts, homewear and even mobile phones. However, the company still remains true to its origins and continues manufacturing the emblematic polo shirt. Specifically, Lacoste's Eyewear collection materialises relaxed, fresh, casual fit, comfortable, unconventional, cool, colourful and fasionable but at the same time, classyelegant and chic designs. More than 75 years after being created, Lacoste has turned into a lifestyle brand that is synonym of elegance and comfort.
