What are the main lens treatments?
- Hydrophobe
- This treatment makes the lens repel water, improving cleaning even in tough situations such as sea races or under the rain.
- Lipophilic
- Grease and fingerprint-resistant treatment, which prevents grease being deposited on the surface of the lens.
- Antifouling
- It adds an antistatic treatment making dust unable to stick to the lens.
- Hardened or DURCAP/SUPRA (Anti Scratch)
- Hard coating that protects the surface of the organic lenses, making them more resistant to scratches. This treatment improves the resistance to abrasion and makes the life of the lenses longer.
- OptiFog (demister)
- It is a treatment to the lenses that prevents fog on glasses, avoiding moisture condensation on the surface of the lens. Optifog, does not only have a demister characteristic, but also reduces glare in the glass, repels dust, is resistant to scratches and has UV protection.
- Crizal Forte UV
- Protector filter against reflections, fingerprints, scratches, dust, water and UV protection. Lens will be able to block ultraviolet rays from every angle, protecting your eyes.
- Natural 10
- Anti-reflective treatment with degreaser and hydrophobic. If applied to organic lenses, it also adds anti scratch coat (hardened).
- Crizal Prevencia (Essilor) / CSR (Prats)
- Treatment that allows selectively filter harmful light (UV and blue-violet). Applying this treatment will have 25 times more protection against UV rays than without it.
- Anti-reflective
- This improvement adds several layers that prevent flare and adds a Protective Factor to your sight. Also, other people can see directly to your eyes without reflections on the glasses.
- Photochromic
- This treatment, named transitions, makes your lenses adapt to the level of light: it will turn clear in low light, when you are in indoors for example, and automatically get darkened when going to the exterior. It also includes full protection against UV rays.

Lens materials
The composition of the lenses of your glasses may be mineral (made out of glass) or organic. The choice of the material of the lenses influences esthetics, weight and durability of the lens. - Essilor Orma
- Organic lens that is almost unbreakable and it is twice as light compared to basic mineral lenses. It is ideal for users with low graduation that only need a basic and economical solution.
- Essilor Ormix
- Light and comfortable organic lens, suitable for many situations. It is 30% thinner than normal lenses, being suggested to have them as rimless frames.
- Essilor Ormax
- Polycarbonate monofocal basic lens, it allows a wide range of power and is much aesthetic thanks to a large index. They are 30% thinner than the standard lens index of 1.5.
- Essilor Stylis
- Organic lenses; they are very thin and flat, being able to combine elegance with discretion. They are recommended for rimless frames and allows any type of graduation, even the lowest.
- Essilor Lineis
- It is the thinnest and flattest lens on the market. It is suitable for rimless frames and is capable of adjusting to any graduation, even the highest.
