OLIVER PEOPLES o'malley 2015: Exclusive eyewear collection of OLIVER PEOPLES

Oliver Peoples Collections

Oliver Peoples O’Malley collection is part of Oliver Peoples Vintage Circa 1987 collection. It’s a limited edition collection that first appeared in 1988 with a single frame. That design draws inspiration from the classic eyeglasses worn in 1959 by the Los Angeles Dodgers’ former owner, Peter O’Malley. In fact, the frame was named after him. This vintage-inspired design remains one of the most recognizable and iconic frame in the eyewear industry and in the Oliver People’s career too, and it’s one of the brand’s founder’s, Larry Leight, favourite designs. O’Malley collection features beautiful handcrafted frames, taking on the style from the 20s and 30s, but with 60s intellect. O’Malley collection has only a single design, style OV5183, like the original O’Malley frame, but it’s presented in different colours. Truthful to the classic colours from Oliver Peoples brand’s starting point, the O’Malley collection covers the colour palette offered by the first O’Malley frame: rich tortoiseshell, translucent colours, grey, cream and some shades of brown. Actor Christian Bale wore the optical O’Malley frame in the movie “American Psycho” (2000) playing the role of Wall Street broker Patrick Bateman. Other celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart have been spotted wearing a pair of O’Malley spectacles.
